Photo Documentary of Katrina in N.O.
Normally I’d just stick this as a link in my del.icio.us sidebar, but this collection of nearly 200 photos by a New Orleans resident of before, during and after the hurricane is unbelievable. Much of the network news coverage here has been disgusting, boarding on insulting and so to see a thoughtful collection of photos and commentary like this is wonderful, as much as it is haunting. Do take the time to click through and read Alvaro’s commentary. Unfortunately many of the comments left on his slideshow (apart from the first page) by visitors are embarrassingly stupid and should be skipped, but in amongst them, one person left his contact details in SF offering to put up Alvaro if he needed some place to stay - which was interesting. |
