Influx is looking for ADD people - like you and I.

Influx Consulting, here in the Bay Area, is looking for interest in a new style of conference they’d like to organize. Influx Consulting runs the web site, Insights, and is part of Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners which recently won the Mini advertising account here in the US.

I’ve taken their words from their site, and if you have any interest at all please do get in touch with them, on their site here.

Japanese architects Klein Dytham have done more than create buildings, they may have stumbled across a formula that could keep conferences fresh for the next couple of years. They are calling it “Pecha Kucha”, which in Japanese means chit-chat. Basically, it’s an event where they encourage a group of creative companies/designers to come and present, but only if they abide by the two basic rules:

1. Presentations are limited to 20 slides
2. Presenters can only spend 20 seconds on each slide

The meme has spread from Tokyo to London and across to Europe. It could be the fast food equivalent and the therefore the future of conferences. In a world where A.D.D is rampant, with people wanting desperate to be in constant check of their Crackberries and laptops, “Perchu Kucha” could be the solution.

Influx is wondering if anyone is interested in working with us, to be in or put on a Branding “Pecha Kucha” event, one evening in San Francisco early in 2006? If so, please leave us a comment. (this is on Influx Insight’s site, not mine of course).
